TECH EDITING SERVICES: 

During a tech edit, your pattern will be analyzed based on these categories: 

• Math 

  • Ensure that when a knitter works through your pattern, the numbers and measurements are consistent and correct. 

• Style 

  • Ensure that the language and style used is consistent throughout the whole pattern, increasing accessibility and readability. 

• Charts

  • Ensure that the charts provided match the written instructions, and when knit can replicate the stitches shown in the pattern photos.

• Size Grading

  • I will work with the designer on creating a range of sizes for a single style that they have designed. Throughout my tech editing career, I have specialized in editing and grading garments up to and past a 60” bust. 

• Yardage Grading

  • I will accurately provide the designer with the necessary amount of yardage needed to work each size of their pattern, even if they have not knit those sizes. 

• Style Sheets

  • When working with a designer, I can provide them with a style sheet/template to ensure that each of their patterns is consistent throughout based on their style and formatting preferences.

• Creating Knit Charts

  • If you are a designer and have a written pattern but would like a chart to provide as well, I would be happy to make that for you!
